Franciscan Festival at Portizuncola Indulgence Day

​

Francis loved us so much that he begged Our Lord and His Mother to grant a Plenary Indulgence to all who went to Mass, Confession, received Communion and prayed in the Church.  Pope  Honorius III  granted  this desire of St. Francis so that the indulgence could be obtained on August 2 of each year. The Confraternity of Penitents celebrates this event yearly in Fort Wayne IN USA.

Mass: 4 pm and 6:30 p.m.

Three priests hearing confessions throughout the event

Food, games, music, booths, religious goods, used books for sale.

​

No admission fee

​

Bring the family, attend Mass, go to Confession, say certain prayers for the Pope's intentions, and gain a plenary indulgence (complete remission of punishment for sin)
